Langkawi Day 3

Last day here since our flight is early in the morning. It's really not 4 days, 3 nights in Langkawi to be exact. Oh well, At least we covered quite a lot of places and the last day itineraries were island hopping and water sport activites! Yiippeeee!!

We island hopped to Pulau Dayang Bunting.
Why the name? Coz the island shaped of a pregnant lady. Not sure where the picture of the island is. I think my brother has it. We spent an hour at the island. Climbed up and down the stairs. Uphill, downhill and saw a number of monkeys. After climbing the stairs, you'll eventually reach the Tasik Dayang Bunting. You can swim, ride on paddling boat thinggy or just soak your feet in the ocean water. Just like I did.

Yeaaah, see the monkey's butt. Eeeew, hahaha! Looks like mangosteen to me.
If you followed me on Instagram, I uploaded a video of these three monkeys! The monkey holding the bag of potato chips totally not into "sharing is caring".

Next, Pulau Helang.
There were so many eagles over there! That is why Langkawi is called LANGkawi because of the eagles. Eagle in malay is helang. Short form they call it Lang.

Lastly, Beras Basah Island.
At that island, you can swim or do water sport activities for an hour. But we decided not too coz our real deal water activities are waiting for us at Pantai Cenang! Over at this island, monkeys are everywhere. They are totally good listeners. HAHAHA! Whenever they hear the sound of plastics or food wrappers, they know it. Here's a picture of my family.... next to us was.... a monkey.
If you were to zoom in to my dad's tummy.... He hid the pack of Twisties when the monkey came to hand out with us. The monyet face seriously.. buat dek je. HAHHAA! And how cute my father was to hurriedly hid Twisties underneath his shirt.

Take a photo of the iconic eagle statue before you leave Langkawi!

Headed back to our resort. Changed to our swimming outfits and off for water sports activities! YAAAAYY!
Since our tour guide was very well known - small world they say. All the beach guys who are in charge of the water activities knew him. And gave us an incredibly cheaper rate!
We did parasailing at RM 70/ person. Usual price was RM 120/person.
Banana boat was counted for the price of one person... But three rode on it.
Jet ski was... not sure how much. But it was soooooooo fun!

Although parasailing ended real fast. It seemed like 5 minutes rather than what they promised - 15 minutes :( Banana boat was thrilling! The seawater, of course, was a painful experience I had to bear. It stung my face all the time. I had to kept drinking the water - not on purpose yah. I was quite afraid to control the jet ski but my brother pillion me so I was safe and sound.

 THE END!

Langkawi Day 2

At 3 am, Langkawi rained the whole night. It didn't stop at all and got us really worried and afraid our activities might have to be cancelled. Alhamdullilah, it stopped at 9-10am. Phewww~ We quickly headed down to the jetty and off to Coral Island!

The boat took an hour or so to reach the island. Over there, we snorkelled! It was my first time and I had fun! What disgust me was the toilet. Omg, cannot sia. I want to pee also cannot. HAHAHAAH! But i did. Luckily I brought plenty of mineral water bottles to at least not hurt my important body parts. You know what I mean. Their shower and water to cebok all are seawater. How can... Pedih sia nanti. I've warned all of you here. Bring your mineral water and don't bother showering. Shower when you return to your hotel room :)

I don't have much pictures over here since I used my water camera to snap pictures of fishes. Those pictures are in the process of developing. So, I'll post next time.

We had OTOT again. Headed to shopping mall and see see a while. Buy food is the most important thing to do first. Then, off to night market. We then settled down and checked in our resort. It was so nearby the beach. Very convenient. Ooooh, the scenery at Pantai Cenang, I loved it!

Biasa luh makan durian. Malaysia mah~

Langkawi Day 1

Overseas trip with the family to Langkawi! I've always wanted to travel and spend my holiday trip on island. And finally we went! Yay! I no longer like going for K.L/ Malacca trip - which my family usually go to the previous years. It's always the same thing when we go there - shopping, eating, sightseeing. For how many years I've been there, there's nothing to sightsee anymore.

The air tickets to Langkawi was quite cheap (I'm not sure how much tho, hahaha!). So my daddy quickly booked the air tickets. However, neither does he booked for any tour plans nor resorts/hotels. Great. Luckily, Expo had this travel event and... yay, we were able to secure ourselves a trustworthy tour guide/ plans.

4 days, 3 nights - covers home stay (2d,1n), all those tourist attractions, booking the resort for us and also, rent a car for us to travel the whole island of Langkawi!

I bet I mentioned that I wished to have stayed longer in the transit? Duh, there's a lot of branded things down there. You don't have to pay service taxes. Woohoo! Of course, I bought my Pandora. Totally planned everything before this day, fyi. I wished I could have thought everything thoroughly and have the power to spend as much. Sigh, all I can do at Marc Jacobs was to see and touch the bags/wallets etc. Next time, Humsie. Work your ass off and save that money!

Upon reaching Langkawi, I saw this! It's Mickey and friends hanging up there on a parachute! How cute. Hahaha.
The car they rented for us was not bad at all. It's clean and they got for us a good car brand. Well, not the BMW kind duh. At least a Hyundai Vios was good enough. As long it's clean, comfy and not the typical Proton Saga car.
Langkawi is an island, probably almost the size or maybe smaller to Singapore? (if you don't include their separated islands). There ain't no trains around. Little public buses we saw. Hence, all the way the citizens travel via their own car or motorbikes. IF we ever get lost, rest assure they said, it's just an island. We can eventually return home safely.

We reached the home stay venue and... we were greeted by many cats! Sooooo adorable, friendly and none we scared of us, strangers! I played with the kitten below! I wish to bring it home!!!!

The above cat is the mother of that kitten! Yes, you're right! They look exactly different! Because this momma fucked a pure black cat (not snapped tho). Hence, the baby. Cross breed, that's right.

_________________________________________________________________________

Firstly, we rode on a boat and went to bat cave. Sorry, bats. For we, the tourist, had to pay you a visit during your bedtime.

Next, fish farm!
There were a lot of fishes, crabs, lobsters, stingrays etc. Below is me holding the..... uh huh, what do you call that? Crab? Ahh, crap, I don't know.

Next up, the crocodile cave!
The tide was pasang (air pasang)... Lol, uh huh, I don't know how to say it in English. Hence, due to that, we were not able to enter the cave. If we did.... our heads will be hit by the rocks. Obviously. No, there weren't any crocodiles.

The boat sped up and we were close to Thailand borders.
Here's Klim Geoforest Park. We just took a photo of the island only.

The above island is shaped like a....... Would you like to guess?

\
How about this rock? What does it look like?
Answers are at the end of this post. Happy guessing!

After visiting the first part of the tourist attraction, we were on our own. OTOT. Knowing we only have three days over in Langkawi, we quickly head down to the well known attractions. Being nearby to the jetty, we headed to Air Hangat Village Langkawi.
This is how the place work. You take a stroll and pass by foot reflexology obstacles (it's up to you if you want to). After all those work out, you head down to the well where you soak your feet in the warm water. Ooooh, that's what we need.

We headed for the Langkawi Cable Car! This cable car ride consists of three stations - first, middle, last station. And really, it was high up there this cable car ride. I'm glad I'm not afraid of heights. My brother was quite surprised to see me standing in the cabin, snapping pictures of the beautiful scenery.

Unfortunately, this was not completely done :( Or else, I would have walked through it. Sigh.

End of day 1.

Bye Sg!

Razz sent me off! Haha.
I wish I could stay longer and shop around the transit!

Merry Johor

It has been so long since I came to Johor for variety of food , cheap movie tickets, different kinds of household products, chewing gums and ....... mostly on the food. Since I knew they were renovating around early this year (?) , I didn't go for a visit down there. Neither do I have the time from my holidays to head down for a one-day vacation. I was glad they renovated to something far off convenient and yummy for us, for everyone.

For your info, I normally go to City Square Mall located just .... or maybe righhht after you step out of checkpoint between Singapore and Malaysia. Not literally step out and you've reached your destination~ Duuh, you gotta walk a little bit. hahhaa!!!!

The first thing that pops on my mind going for a vacation there was food..... Nope,WERE.... FOODSSSS!! Emphasizing on the ssssss , you see. The renovated City Square Mall was far off better than the previous. The moment you enter and take an escalator up... You'll see countless number of food shops down there. Ranging from restaurants to just snacking. To make it sound more extravagant (because y'all might think Singapore do have everything food too maaah~), over there are mostly HALAL. Which means.... You'll see me just dashing into the restaurants that catches my eye. *wink* hehehe. Yup, very convenient. That's the most good thing of going on a vacation in Malaysia.

Firstly, was Subway! Eat fresh~
Which was a MUST to consume when in Malaysia. ALL MEATS ARE HALAL, fyi :) Rumours might have spread like wild fire about Malaysia's Subway not being Halal sooner or later. This is because they want to standardize it (this franchise / selling thing) worldwide. HELL NO! PLEASE DON'T !!!

I had mine with meatballs! Yummmm! I love meatballs and I don't know why. It's cute to consume I think. hhahaha! Not taking any advantage on my Subway sandwich, I spammmm on vegetables with tomato, olives, capsicums.... Thank god, I do not mind consuming all those vegetables. Except for onions (yucckks!).

Afterwards, went to catch a movie which was also a MUST thing to do.. for my family especially. Because the tickets over there was cheaaapp!! If I'm not wrong it was RM 10 = SGD 5 ++ ? I know rigghhtt~~ So, we caught Jack Reacher and it was funny and a gooood movie! Do requires a little bit of thinking as well during this movie.

Thereafter.. of course. dinner time! For my family, it was the usual Season's Restaurant. Which is also known for it's cousin, Swenses. hehehe. During our dining there, we were entertained by Christmas performances at the foyer (see above). The Santa mascot wasss super cute !!!! Can you spot it??

After dinner, we went for a little grocery shopping. Bought mooreee foods! Especially pastries from Season's Bakery. The shop has expanded which means more and more pastries can be displayed and sold! Yippeee! And yesss, I saw newer pastries which I immediately grabbed them before any other could grab it! hehehee.
Moreover,  I would like to share my experience on Churros! It's best consumed when it's freshly made and warm! Do not wait til you go home and consume it because by then, it will turned soggy and what's the point... of Churros when it tastes bland and not crunchy anymore :( Churros was amazingly delicious and it tastes just like the Char Kway/ You Tiao!! Just that it is waaay more crunchy! :D

Next time, I'm soooo gonna buy and eat on the spot! hahahah! Seriously, no point bringing it home :(  And I will definitely get my hands on crispy crepes! I didn't have any room to stuff any more food after dinner. Yeaaahh, sadly~

Jurong Bird Park

Last Saturday, my brother (the NS one) had a family day at Bird Park. I probably won't call it a FAMILY day. Because.... he was offered a few tickets only and over there weren't anything close to previous family day I've been to. Maybe they were budget. Yeah, probably. Haha.

I wasglad to have followed him even ifit was super early in the morning. Sigh. It's been long since I've been to Jurong Bird Park. I couldn't recall when was the last time I went.
I took a lot of pictures and it was the iPhone 4s tho.... Totally wishing I had a camera with me. I'm soooooo gonna get a new one since there's Christmas sales!

Let the picture do the talking now.

I'm not sure what's the matter with this swan? It has one of its leg up.
Wanna be a flamingo, much? hahahaha.

The toilet is clean and beautiful. I'm in love with the mirrors!
It is just like Paramore's album with irregular shapes here and there~

The moment I stepped into Bird Park I was extremely fascinated and in awe with the orchid deco entrance. There were so many different kinds of them !!! It's pretty~
If you know me well, I enjoy admiring flowers :)

My brother has amazing race going on so I walked around Bird Park with my mother. So glad she came along ! Else, I'll be adventuring alone which is..... not that bad. But... I can't self-time and take photos of myself, cant't I?

Above are a few birds we saw along the way! Hehehe. It's cute that the Saddle-billed Stork came towards me as if knowing I want a closer look at it. :D It's scary when it's coming up to me.

Up next, my mother wanted to watch shows so... show "King of the Skies" it was.

The owls were soooo beautiful and hugeee! I wish I could keep one!
Hehehe. And some were very old so there were kinda slow and sleepy, I suppose?
There was one (the above pic) it was aged 2 years old ! Surprisingly, HUGE.

Rest assure all props were fake and made up of sponges/ bricks whatsoever.
The above two birds were the vultures! Hence, the fake statue to a cow's corpse.

I'm love with the owls' feathers! It's damn gorgeous!!
Soooo.. Harry Potter-ish!!! :D

Then, we went to Bird's Research Centre to observe how they were hatched/ fed etc. Below two newborn birds were soooooo...... retarded! hahahaa. I mean... They look cute and very photogenic. They kept looking and the other (on the left) seemed to be chuckling. I took a video of it fyi. hehehehe. Cuteeeee!

Managed to be with Kai Kai & Jia Jia when we were at Bird Park.
HHAHAHHAHAHAHA.
Worth it! No need to pay entry to Zoo!!

Afterwards, mother and I watched another show. I forgot what it was called.
The birds in this show flew just right above my head !!! HAHAHHAHA.
To my horror, it was pigeons that flew above me.....
Errrrr.. Okaaayyyy~

For the love of owls, they had this new exhibit on Darkness of the I forgot.....
Yaaaaaaaaayyyy!  Owls ! And it was perpetual darkness down there. I had difficulty finding my lovely owls at the beginning. But... My eyes got use to the dark and..... Helllloooo owwllss!!! *hoot hoot*

My iPhone did not manage to capture the owls as good as people who brought DSLR. Sadly.... And tell you what, the owls didn't even not at even one posed in front of my iPhone camera. Shheessshh~
Thank you to Photoscape for allowing me the chance to brighten up the background and was able to outstand the foreground. Wowww... speaking of image segmentation much? heheh.

Lastly was the penguins!
I wasn't able to explore the whole Bird Park tho :( Because of shows and the brother seemed to want to... errr.. go home. Sighhhh.

THE END JURONG BIRD PARK!
YAAAAYY!

Merry Christmas. Hohoho~
