Pancake's like Macdonalds' hotcakes honestly. I enjoyed the mixed berries more than the apple cinnamon-ish pancake. lol, this is a short post.

Fixed at FIX

It has been such a long time since I last cafe hop. Finally, I got my fix at FIX. Situated in HomeTeam NS, the cafe is halal certified and jsut by the poolside. I love the interior design of the cafe as it suits the name of the cafe. As seen in the above pictures, it made use of construction tools as part of their decorations. What I am most amazed about was the pillars of the tables and seats and also the partitions in between tables. It was totally construction site inspired, so cool! Nevertheless, a cafe with dim florescence lightings/ light bulbs will definitely make a great ambience.

Here in Fix they think sandwiches are totally mainstream and all cafes have them. So, they made their own identity and serve naanwiches. It is basically naan bread. As always cafe serves simple/ easy to make food and they just make themselves look hipster enough to attract young (gen) customers. Fools. I'm one of them too, hehe. What I adore about Fix is their adorable, distinct teacups. This is I feel is one of their identity. If you see a picture with a tiffany blue cup, that is definitely from Fix.

Naanwich costs $11 and it is just simply naan bread with egg, meat and salad on top. For me, I ordered the Chicken Tikka Naanwich. This dish was so familiar to me as it is very alike to acar (in malay weddings). I'm not sure about the chicken but it tasted like Tandoori chicken. On my plate the salad was generous (reminds me of Turkey) and the poached egg was perfectly done, #eggporn! For the person opposite me, she ordered Smoked Tukey Ham Naanwich. Which I thought was simple as it is just ham with salad and poached egg. Hmmm. Naanwich comes with a teacup filled with nachos too. I ordered a hot chocolate as it comes in a set (if you wanna) in which you have to just top up an extra $2 (for hot beverages) or $3 (for cold beverages). I wanted the hot choc coz of the latte art and the tiffany blue teacup to be in my picture. So instagram-worthy! Also, I don't drink coffee, heeee.

We, too, came for the churros coz we crave for it. It costs $7 for six stick of churros. It was gooood and better than Butterscotch's. Not too cinnamon-ish and the churros were a great way to end lunch. Thought I wouldn't be full but you know what? Judging from the amount we spent in a cafe you will definitely feel full eventually. Other than churros they do have other desserts.  I heard their doughnuts with salted egg dip is quite popular.

Nur Indah @ Changi Village

Today, it is not about cafe food. It's about traditional malay dishes from Nur Indah in Changi Village! They do have an outlet at Joo Chiat/Geylang if I'm not wrong and it is always packed. Upon hearing and reading them on newspaper, my family and I went down to Changi for lunch and to fill our empty stomach. Family I meant was just my parent and I. My brothers weren't there and that's why we just order the Nasi Ambeng for 2 pax. which costed $24.90. It was soooo worth it and the generous serving of lauk pauk. I don't think it was spicy especially their sambal belacan coz I can take spicy food. And I like each and every one their lauk pauk. Oh, so dahsyaaaattt. Yums in my tums! I love the way that they served it in a dulang which makes it so traditional and it makes you so much satisfied eating in that manner. Like the saying "Sharing is Caring". It applies here.

Right after those heaty food in a heaty weather head down to the hawker centre area for Penang Cendol. Unfortunately, it was not sweet for a Chendol. Too much ice probably. Nonetheless, it was a great way to cool down rather than eating ice cream at (a couple of) nearby ice cream parlours/cafe.

Cafe Mondo

Impromptu visit to Cafe Mondo because we had no clue where to have our dinner in town. We haven't been here hence, we ate there. I thought the cafe would have a wow factor judging from the photos I've seen on Instragram and googling them for info. Unfortunately, the food they have were simple and definitely costly (in which i mean not worth it). Most probably their ice cream platelet were the ones people would come to dine in here. It does look appetizing and has really interesting flavours too.

We ordered Fish & Chips, Foccoccia Beef Mondo (that's mine!) and Mac & Cheese macaroni. Also, fried sweet potatoes, a healthier alternative rather than the usual french fries. Fish & chips was a safe choice but was really.... little. The fries were unique in their own way in which it's fatter. My Foccoccia Beef Mondo was simply the bread (orange in colour, lol) and with somewhat lasagne sauce in it. But, what was really worth it was probably the Mac&Cheese- very filling.

I think people came here for the desserts. It does look interesting tho.
